Former NBA star O'Neal to be keynote speaker at 2013 NCAA Convention in Grapevine

Former NBA standout Shaquille O?Neal will address delegates as the keynote speaker during this year?s NCAA Convention, which begins Wednesday in Grapevine. NCAA officials said today that O?Neal will focus on the importance of education, stressing the value of the three college degrees he has earned during his post-NBA career.

O?Neal, who played 19 seasons in the NBA after leaving LSU following his junior season, earned his bachelor?s degree in general studies from LSU in 2000. He finished a master?s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix in 2005 and earned his doctorate in organizational learning and leadership from Barry University in May, 2012.

O?Neal, who retired from the NBA in 2011, works as an analyst for Turner Sports and is one of the hosts for TNT?s Inside the NBA.
